Madonna Denies Drug Reference At Miami Festival

Madonna has denied that she was making reference to an illegal drug when she recently asked the audience at her show at Miami's Ultra Music Festival how many of her fans had "seen Molly?" The girl's name is also a common slang term for the drug MDMA.

Critics, including electronic DJ Deadmau5, were quick to sound off on the Material Girl, questioning her choice to promote elicit drug use at her show.

"You're a role model to 100's of millions. You have a powerful voice, [Electronic Dance Music] could use your positive influence, not 'molly' talk," he tweeted.

Madonna has since responded to Deadmau5, however, tweeting a photo of herself wearing Mickey Mouse ears with a thought bubble overhead:

"From one mouse to another. I don't support drug use and I never have. I was referring to the song called 'Have You Seen Molly' written by my friend Cedric Gervais who I almost worked with on my last album . . ."
