Earth, Wind and Fire mastermind Maurice White is currently being sued for allegedly not paying one of the group's producers who died more than three decades ago.
The producer in question is Charles Stepney, who produced a number of the band's greatest hits from 1974 until his death in 1976 such as "Shining Star," "Mighty Mighty," "Devotion" and "Sing a Song."
According to legal papers obtained by TMZ, Stepney's children claim that they have recently discovered their dad never received any royalty checks for his producer work on the EWF hits, even while he was alive.
Now they want White, along with Sony Music Holdings, Inc, to fork over restitutions for all of the royalties they claim they deserve, dating all the way back to 1974.
