Eurozone Jobless Rate Rises To New Record High

Unemployment rate in the Eurozone rose to a new record high in February, data from Eurostat showed Monday.

The seasonally adjusted jobless rate rose to 10.8 percent from 10.7 percent in January. The outcome was in line with economists' forecast. The rate was 10 percent in February 2011.

Compared with January, the number of persons unemployed increased by 162,000 in the euro area. Annually, unemployment rose by 1.476 million.

In the EU27, the jobless rate was 10.2 percent in February, compared with 10.1 percent in January.
