"Two and Half Men" star Ashton Kutcher has reportedly signed on to appear as late Apple founder and CEO Steve Jobs in a new biopic. One of several Jobs biopics currently in the works, the film starring Kutcher will be directed by "Swing Vote" helmer Joshua Michael Stern.

"I had the idea the day Jobs retired and I notice several IT and art directors at my company all in a buzz," producer Mark Hulme said of the initial idea to TheWrap.com. "I was observing that day how distractive his retirement was to the marketplace and I knew in my heart that his story was the film I wanted to do."

A second biopic is also in the works from "West Wing" creator and "The Social Network" writer Aaron Sorkin. Speaking with the U.K.'s Guardian, Sorkin said his version of the Steve Jobs story could still be a ways off:

"Right now I'm just in the thinking-about-it stages," said Sorkin in November. "It's a really big movie and it's going to be a great movie no matter who writes it. He was a great entrepreneur, he was a great artist, a great thinker."
