National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd., or NTPC, said its capacity addition in FY12 was 2,820 MW, up from the 2,490 MW In FY11, reports said.
In FY12, NTPC brought on stream two units of 660 MW at Sipat (Chhattisgarh), 500 MW units each in Jhajjar (Haryana), Simhadri (Andhra Pradesh) and Vallur (Tamil Nadu).
The company said that it added 9,610 MW during the 11th Plan, compared to the target of 9,220 MW.
At present, the total installed capacity of NTPC is 37,014 MW with 15 coal-based, seven gas-based power stations and seven joint venture/subsidiary power projects.
It is currently working on over 14,000-MW new capacities and plans to become a 128,000-MW plus company by 2032.
