Scotty McCreery has reportedly committed to attend North Carolina State University next fall. N.C. State, located in Raleigh, is one of four schools to which McCreery applied, including Belmont, East Carolina and Tennessee State.
According to theboot.com, Scotty will consider transferring to a university in Nashville in two years if it will further his career.
While speaking with people.com, McCreery said he's always been a fan of the Wolfpack and is thrilled to join the student body:
"I grew up rooting for N.C. State, and that's where my dad went," Scotty explained.
He adds that he's getting a lot of hands-on music training these days, so he may turn his studies in another direction:
"Music I'm learning every day now from Brad Paisley on the road and different things. I think marketing would be a cool way of learning how to stay out there and stay current."
