During a gig on their current South American tour, MGMT premiered a new song, "Alien Days." Fan-shot footage, live at the Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogotá, Columbia, is currently circulating the web.
The band is scheduled to resume their South American tour later this month, with shows set for Brazil, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
Speaking with NME.com, frontman Andrew VanWyngarden said the group is taking an experimental approach to their next album:
"It would be wrong to say that we ever had pure intentions of being a mainstream band. We began to realise that people thought of us as this electro-pop dance act. And that's really not who we are."
MGMT are currently at work on their third, self-titled, album for which no release date has yet been announced.
