The LCD Soundsystem movie, Shut Up and Play the Hits, will be released through Beastie Boy Adam Yauch's Oscilloscope Laboratories production company.
The rock doc trails lead singer James Murphy as he ruminates on the band's last days; its dénouement is LCD's final concert at Madison Square Garden in New York. A trailer for the movie is currently circulating the web.
"Perhaps having grown up in a band for most of my life . . . this film addresses so many questions. For instance, it can be pretty clear when a band starts, but perhaps less so when it ends, or how it should end. In that sense, it's brilliant of James [Murphy] to end it in such a definitive way," said Yauch of the picture.
Shut Up and Play the Hits is due sometime this summer.
