Slovakia's merchandise trade surplus increased for the second consecutive month in February, data from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Thursday.
The trade surplus increased to EUR 347.7 million in February from EUR 263.9 million in January. In February 2011, the trade balance showed a surplus of EUR 177.5 million.
Total exports increased 8.7 percent annually, after rising 8.3 percent in the previous month. Imports rose 5 percent, following an 8.2 percent gain.
