Austria's wholesale price inflation accelerated in March, after slowing in the previous seven months, data released by Statistics Austria showed Thursday.
The wholesale price index increased 2 percent year-on-year in March, faster than the 1.5 percent growth seen in February. The rate of growth quickened after slowing in all of the previous seven months.
Wholesale prices of watches and jewelery climbed 14.7 percent year-on-year, while prices of coffee, tea and spices moved up 12.4 percent. There was a 8.2 percent annual growth in automotive fuel prices and an 11.9 percent rise in prices of other petroleum products in March.
On a monthly basis, wholesale prices advanced 1.5 percent in March, faster than February's 1 percent growth.
