A boat carrying about 70 asylum-seekers was intercepted by the Australian Navy in waters off the country's west on Thursday.
A naval vessel stopped the boat north-east of Scott Reef, about 300 kilometers north of the Dampier peninsula, Australian media reported quoting officials.
It was the third boat of asylum-seekers to enter Australian waters this week. Occupants of the boat, whose nationalities were not known, will be taken to Christmas Island for security, health and identity checks, the reports said.
