'Into The Woods' Revival To Star Amy Adams

Amy Adams announced Wednesday she will star in a Public Theater revival of American musical play "Into the Woods," to be performed in New York City's Central Park between July 23 to August 25.

Adams, who previously showcased her voice in "Enchanted" and "The Muppets," will play the Baker's Wife in the Stephen Sondheim musical, originally performed at the Old Globe in San Diego in 1986.

The part of the baker's wife was originally portrayed by Joanna Gleason in 1987 - a role for which she nabbed a Tony award.

The play re-imagines the intertwined stories of a handful of Grimm's fairy tale characters, including Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack (of Jack and the Beanstalk).

Adams stars alongside Jack Broderick (Narrator), Gideon Glick (Jack), Cooper Grodin (Rapunzel's Prince), Ivan Hernandez (Cinderella's Prince/Wolf), Tina Johnson (Granny), Josh Lamon (Steward), Jessie Mueller (Cinderella), Laura Shoop (Cinderella's Mother) and Tess Soltau (Rapunzel).
