RealNetworks Closes Sale Of Patents And Video Codec Software To Intel

RealNetworks Inc. (RNWK: Quote) said it has completed the sale of patents and next generation video codec software to Intel Corp. (INTC: Quote) for $120 million.

RealNetworks said that it retains certain rights to continue to use the patents in current and future products and does not expect the sale will have any material impact on its businesses.

Cisco Results Top Estimates

Cisco Systems, Inc., the world's largest computer networking gear maker, said Wednesday after the markets closed that its third quarter profit rose 14.5% from last year, helped by higher sales and a tax benefit. The company's quarterly earnings per share, excluding items, also came in above analysts' expectations as did its quarterly sales.
