A day before Barack Obama and his family celebrate the fourth annual White House seder, the President filmed a Passover message for America's Jewish community focusing on the importance of tolerance in our everyday lives.
The Thursday message was a step-up from last year's memo-message sent via email to the White House listserv.
Remarking on the multiple times the Jewish community has been targeted for violent attacks throughout their history, Obama extolled the importance of tolerance and acceptance of all faiths, races, and lifestyles.
"Just as throughout history there have been those who have sought to oppress others because of their faith, ethnicity, or color of their skin," Jews continue to be targeted today, the President remarked in the video message.
Specifically, the President again expressed his condolences for the massacre of Jewish schoolchildren in France last month.
The President also said the Exodus story told during Passover has given faith to the Jewish community and others.
"The story of that first Exodus has also inspired others who are not Jewish with common hopes and a common sense of obligation," Obama added.
Tomorrow's seder will be led by Jewish staffers working at the White House and will be attended by Jewish American leaders.
