Vince Gill Performs At Rainforest Fund Benefit

Vince Gill was part of a star-studded benefit for the world's rainforests that took place at Carnegie Hall earlier this week.

The country star performed renditions of Don Gibson's classic "I Can't Stop Loving You," Roy Orbison's "Oh, Pretty Woman," and the Everly Brothers' "All I Have to Do Is Dream." Actress/singer Rita Wilson (Mrs. Tom Hanks) joined Gill to sing the Everly Brothers classic.

Gill's wife, Amy Grant, was also in attendance and told Rolling Stone that the benefit was a wakeup call for those in attendance about the plight of the world's rainforests.

"I was inspired to go and try to write something," said Grant.

The evening's two-hour "Songs from the Silver Screen" event, which featured performances from a range of stars including Sir Elton John, James Taylor, Sting, Jennifer Hudson, Roseanne Cash and more, was put together by Trudie Styler.

The Rainforest Fund is a biennial event and has been going strong since 1988.
