Disney confirmed this week a sequel to their last year's well-received superhero flick "Captain America" will be released in 2014.

According to various sources the follow-up will see the red, white and blue hero resurrected in present day New York City after being cryogenically frozen during World War II.

Reps for Disney broke the news in an official statement, saying Captain America's second film will pick up where "The Avengers," a Captain American spin-off opening this year, leaves off.

"The Walt Disney Studios has announced a release date for Marvel Studios' sequel to the blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger on April 4, 2014...Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world," the Disney statement said.
