It can be tough to get Springsteen tickets, even when you are the mayor of a major city in The Boss' home state of New Jersey.
Newark Mayor Cory Booker was reportedly denied tickets to a sold out Bruce Springsteen concert at the city's Prudential Center earlier this week.
According to Newark's Star-Ledger newspaper, the outspoken politician had blasted the managing partner of the New Jersey Devils hockey team. The next day, Booker requested seats for a Springsteen concert at the Devils' stadium. His request was denied.
Booker had accused the team of exploiting the city and called Jeff Vanderbeek "one of the most despicable owners" in the NHL. He also called Vanderbeek a "highfalutin, high-class huckster and hustler."
The comments followed an arbitrators' decision that went against the city. The dispute revolves around millions of dollars in rent and parking revenues, the Star-Ledger said.
