AC generator manufacturer TD Power Systems Ltd. said it had signed a long-term license agreement with Siemens AG.
Under the agreement, the company will receive from Siemens, the know-how for manufacture of industrial, air-cooled, 2-pole AC generators in the range of 74 MVA to 250 MVA in India for twenty years.
A separate Supply Frame Agreement has also been signed where certain critical components like rotors, casings, bearings, bearing blocks will be supplied by Siemens upon request by the company.
The company said the new line generators would be manufactured at its facilities located at Dabaspet Industrial Area on the outskirts of Bengaluru, which are proposed to be enhanced to meet standards and requirements for manufacture of such advanced generators.
The company expected commercial production to commence within a period of 24 months.
TD Power has been manufacturing smaller capacity generators under license from Siemens over the last four years. It has a track record of successfully absorbing new technologies for manufacturing generators and has entered into arrangements with several international power equipment manufactures.
At the BSE, TD Power Systems shares are currently trading at Rs.293.25, up 13.66 percent from the previous close.
