Turkey's industrial production increased at a markedly faster rate in March, data released by the Turkish Statistical Office showed Monday.
Industrial output increased 4.4 percent on an annual basis in March, notably faster than the previous month's 1.5 percent increase.
Production in the mining and quarrying industry advanced 6.9 percent annually, while manufacturing production rose 3.2 percent. There was a 12.5 percent year-on-year increase in production of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning.
On a calendar adjusted basis, industrial production advanced 1.6 percent from the same month last year. On a monthly basis, production moved up a seasonally and calendar adjusted 0.7 percent in March, the agency said.
