Teleflex Incorporated (TFX) Monday announced that the British Standards Institution, or the BSI, has granted CE certification to the company's subsidiary unit, VasoNova Inc to market the company's Arrow VPS system to the European Union.
Teleflex stated that marketing for this product in Europe would commence immediately.
The Arrow VPS system is the first to use a unique micro-Doppler ultrasound technology in combination with intravascular ECG and advanced algorithms to provide precise guidance to clinicians and enable correct placement of catheter tips the first time. Employing a simple user interface and blue bullseye symbol, the new technology is designed to avoid clinical consequences such as thrombosis, arterial puncture and vessel wall damage.
The company further that the Arrow VPS System is already available in the United States, and the company had been shipping this product to the hospitals across the U.S since January 2011.
