Ford Recalling 140,000 2012 Focus Cars

Ford is reportedly holding a recall on 140,000 2012 Focus cars made between August 2010 and October 2011. The auto maker says that some of the cars made in that window could be missing a moisture seal on wiring harness that connects the passenger side windshield wiper.

Without this seal, water or other fluids could reach the electrical wiring causing the wipers to short out, leaving drivers with unsafe conditions in a heavy rain. Focus owners are requested to bring their cars into a dealer where the seal will be installed if it is missing.

Private owners are not the only ones contending with the recall. Rental service Avis is reportedly sending in 10,000 of the 140,000 vehicles included in the recall. Most of the cars in question were built on Ford's Michigan factory line, but an additional 20,000 were built outside of America.
