Newly available court records filed Friday show Heidi Klum submitted the divorce papers to split from her husband, soul singer Seal.
The pair, who were married for seven years, cited "irreconcilable differences" on the divorce papers, according to TMZ.
The TV host and supermodel said during a recent interview with Elle her number one concern was for the well-being of her children.
"I'm a lioness. I have four cubs. I'm a mom. I want to take care of my kids and protect them. I don't want to talk about them, or him, or me," she told the magazine.
She also added fans should not expect to hear too many details about the nature of their split.
"People don't need to know who did what," she said.
"I don't want to talk positive or negatively about the ups and downs that we had. Every couple goes through things. Unfortunately, we're in the public, so the highs are out there."
