UK Home Price Balance Improves In March - RICS

House prices in the United Kingdom improved in March, according to survey results released Tuesday by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

The RICS Home Price Balance for March was minus-10, compared to minus-13 in February.

The March reading was the strongest since June 2010.

The survey measures the number of surveyors reporting price drops for the month versus those reporting increases for houses.

New buyer inquiries also increased to an index balance of plus-9 in March from February's plus-3.

Newly agreed sales rose to plus-10 in February from plus-8.

German business software maker SAP AG on Tuesday raised its forecast for fiscal 2017 and 2020, after reporting higher profit and revenues in its fourth quarter. For fiscal 2017, SAP now expects non-IFRS operating profit in a range of 6.8 billion euros to 7.0 billion euros at constant currencies, compared to 6.63 billion euros in 2016. Dutch consumer electronics giant Philips Electronics NV reported Tuesday a profit in its fourth quarter, compared to last year's loss, mainly reflecting higher sales in its HealthTech portfolio. The company also revealed that it is currently in discussions with the US Department of Justice regarding its external defibrillator business in the U.S. TerraForm Global, Inc., an operator of clean energy power plants, said Monday that it has signed an exclusivity agreement with Brookfield Asset Management Inc. to negotiate a potential business combination between them. Shares of TerraForm Global are gaining more than 6 percent in pre-market activity following the announcement.
