Ben Kingsley Reportedly In Talks For Iron Man 3

Ben Kingsley is in talks to star as the villain in the upcoming "Iron Man 3" film.

Rumors that Kingsley would portray Mandarin, a Chinese scientist and Tony Stark's arch nemesis, were denied; instead, Variety reports, Kingsley is a character from the comic book's Warren Ellis "Extremis" storyline responsible for loosing malicious nanobots on the world.

Robert Downey Jr. will be back along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Scarlett Johansson, all of whom starred in the second pic.

Jon Favreau, who directed parts one and two will not be back. Instead, Shane Black ("Kiss Kiss Bang Bang") is slated to direct the third iteration of the Marvel franchise. He begins production on the film this May in North Carolina

"Iron Man 3" is provisionally due in theatres sometime in summer 2013.
