Supervalu Inc. (SVU) reported fourth quarter adjusted EPS of $0.38 Tuesday morning, which beat the consensus estimate of $0.35. Full year 2013 EPS is expected to be between $1.27 and $1.42, compared to the consensus estimate of $1.19.
Supervalu gapped open higher Tuesday, but traded in a range for the bulk of the session. The stock closed up by 0.81 at $6.13, with volume at over an 11- month high. Supervalu jumped to nearly a 2-week high.
