Retail sales in the UK rose in March, a report from the British Retail Consortium said Wednesday.
The BRC's monthly sales monitor showed a 1.3 percent on-year rise in same-store retail sales.
Overall sales, which include stores opened in the past year, were up 3.6 percent on year.
For February, same-store sales were down 0.3 percent on year and overall sales were up 2.3 percent.
Both the overall and same-store figures for March were the highest since December 2011.
"The unusually warm weather in March brought some welcome sunshine into the lives of non-food retailers," said BRC Director General Stephen Robertson.
