After-market Movers For April 10 (AA, MFRM, OI, SMSC, AMCC, OPNT)

Alcoa Inc. (AA) shares gained more than 5% in after hours trading after the largest U.S. aluminum producer reported a surprise first quarter profit.

Shares of Mattress Firm Holding Co. (MFRM) surged more than 14% in extended hours trading after the mattress stores operator reported a swing to fourth quarter profit and forecast current fiscal year earnings above analysts' current consensus estimate.

Owens-Illinois Inc. (OI) shares rose more than 9% in late trading after the world's largest glass container manufacturer said that first quarter results should exceed prior year first quarter earnings from continuing operations of $0.50 per share by more than 35% as a result of good manufacturing performance.

Shares of Standard Microsystems Corp. (SMSC) climbed more than 4% in after hours trading after the chipmaker forecast first quarter revenue and earnings above analysts' current consensus estimates.

Applied Micro Circuits Corp. (AMCC) shares fell more than 4% in extended hours trading after the chipmaker cut its fourth quarter outlook.

Shares of OPNET Technologies, Inc. (OPNT) slipped more than 6% in late trading after the application software maker cut its fourth quarter revenue outlook and lowered the upper end of its fourth quarter earnings forecast range.
