Fiona Apple is preparing her comeback with a new album and a national tour in support of it. The tour will launch in Ithaca, New York, on June 19, the same day her new album, titled The Idler Wheel..., comes out.
Like the new album, the opening concert in Ithaca has been in the works for quite a while, said promoter Dan Smalls of Dan Smalls Presents, who booked the show for Ithaca's State Theatre.
"After months of wrangling and negotiating and then even more negotiating we finally got this one done," Smalls said. "It's a huge honor to have the first date of the tour and all the national press for Ithaca and the State is a huge bonus. I even saw the tour and Ithaca mentioned by Perez Hilton. Here come the paparazzi!"
After the Ithaca show the tour will make stops at iconic venues like Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, historic opera houses, New York's Governors Ball on Randall's Island, and then wrap on July 29 at the Hollywood Palladium.
