Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen say they will play four shows with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert this summer.
The dates include a June 30 show in Moscow, a concert with Elton John in Kiev and two shows in early July at the Hammersmith Apollo in London.
The latter two concerts were scheduled as a fill in for the July 7 Sonisphere set, which was canceled after the event organizers announced the festival would not take place this year.
"We're really excited about it," Taylor tells Billboard.com. "Adam . . . of course he has this unbelievable range, like Freddie (Mercury) had range. Adam can really cover it. He's an extraordinary singer and a real talent. I feel he fits into our sort of theatricality."
Taylor was ambivalent regarding further dates:
". . . we're just going to see what happens, how well it goes, how we get on."
