OECD Unemployment Rate Remains Stable

Unemployment in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) area remained unchanged for the third consecutive month in February, latest data showed.

The unemployment rate remained steady at 8.2 percent in February. The figure has remained unchanged since November 2011.

The jobless rate in the European Union edged up to 10.2 percent in February from 10.1 percent in January, while in the Eurozone it rose to 10.8 percent from 10.7 percent.

In the United States, the unemployment rate was 8.3 percent in February, unchanged from the previous month. In Germany, the unemployment remained unchanged at 5.7 percent for the the fourth month in a row.

In France, the jobless rate held steady at 10 percent during the month. Meanwhile, Japan's jobless rate dropped to 4.5 percent in February from 4.6 percent in January.
