Sirius XM Radio Inc. (SIRI: Quote) announced Wednesday an agreement with the National Hockey League, or NHL, to stream live radio broadcasts of the NHL games on smartphones, mobile devices and online for subscribers of Sirius XM nationwide.

The american satellite radio's subscribers will have access to live broadcasts on the NHL games through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App and online at SiriusXM.com, starting from this season's Stanley Cup playoffs which begin tonight.

Sirius SM will stream all 1230 NHL regular season games, the NHL All-Star Game and every post season game throughout the next season and beyond.

The company's quarterly earnings per share, excluding items, also came in above analysts' expectations as did its quarterly sales.
