The first Lollapalooza Brasil event was headlined by the Foo Fighters. The alt rockers played nearly a three-hour set at the fest in Sau Paulo.
The Foos invited co-headliner Joan Jett onto the stage to play a couple tunes including a raucous version of "I Love Rock 'n' Roll."
Other crowd favorites included Arctic Monkeys, Foster the People, MGMT, Gogol Bordello, and the Brazilian favorite O Rappa, a reggae rock band.
On the electronic stage Peaches, Bassnectar and Calvin Harris put on rousing DJ sets.
Over 70,000 showed up to support the expansion of the popular North American festival to South America. Last year, Lolla begun its southward expansion in Chile, which was successful enough to be brought back again this year.
