Coinstar Inc. (CSTR) announced after the close Thursday that it now expects to report first quarter core earnings from continuing operations of $1.36 to $1.40 per share and between $4.40 and $4.80 for the full year 2012. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $0.90 and $4.09.
Coinstar has gapped open dramatically higher Friday morning and is now up 7.61 at $68.92 on above average volume. The stock has risen past the upper end of a one-month range and has set a new high for the year.
