The Japanese yen strengthened against other major currencies in the late Asian session on Monday.
The yen rose to a 4-day high of 80.62 against the loonie, 5-day highs of 80.61 against the greenback, 83.16 against the aussie and 66.07 against the kiwi.
Also, the yen hit more than a 1-month high of 127.60 against the pound, near 2-month highs of 104.98 against the euro and 87.35 against the franc.
