CRISIL Q1 Stand-Alone Profit Up By 20%

CRISIL Ltd. reported first-quarter stand-alone net profit of Rs.53.85 crore or Rs.7.64 per share, compared with Rs.44.75 crore or Rs.6.30 per share for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. Net profit and earnings per share grew by 20 percent and 21 percent, respectively,

Quarterly total income from operations amounted to Rs.187.35 crore, up by 30 percent from the Rs.144.39 crore in the corresponding quarter of the preceding year, while other income was Rs.4.50 crore, compared with Rs.2.59 crore in the year-ago quarter.

On a consolidated basis, its first-quarter net profit grew by 24 percent to Rs.56.98 crore from the Rs.45.99 crore in the year-ago quarter. Total income from operations increased by 29 percent to Rs.229.74 crore from the Rs.178.77 crore in the corresponding quarter of the preceding year. Other income for the quarter was Rs.4.78 crore, compared with Rs.2.63 crore last year.

The company's board declared first interim dividend of 300 percent or Rs.3.00 per equity share of Re.1 each for the fiscal year 2012 and a Silver Jubilee One-time special dividend of Rs.3.00 per equity share.

AT the BSE, CRISIL closed Monday's trading at Rs.1,069.20, up 0.79 percent from the previous close.
