More than two decades after Nirvana recorded their iconic grunge release Nevermind, the group's remaining members are once again reportedly working alongside the producer that helped put flannel and teen spirit back on the map.

Butch Vig, Nevermind producer and drummer for the group Garbage, has been back in the studio with Nirvana's Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl.

In a recent post penned by Vig, he told followers on Twitter:

"The last 24 hours have been surreal! Had a great gig at the El Rey last night, and spent today recording with Dave, Krist and special guest!"

According to rumors cited by NME, the trio is back at it to help out on a documentary focusing on Sound City Studios. It was in that Los Angeles recording house that the group laid down the tracks that would become Nevermind.

Oddly enough, the same studio also hosted Fleetwood Mac when they recorded their own landmark album, Rumors.
