Tom Petty Offers Reward For Stolen Guitars

Tom Petty has offered a reward of $7,500 for the safe return of a handful of guitars stolen from his Culver City, California studio last week. The classic rock icon and his band the Heartbreakers had been rehearsing in the studio for their upcoming US tour.

According to various sources, the thieves made off with Petty's 1967 12-string blonde Rickenbacker 360 and his 1965 Gibson SGTV Junior. Instruments owned by bassist Ron Blair, rhythm guitar player Scott Thurston, and lead guitarist Mike Campbell were also stolen.

Police in the area are reportedly investigating the theft and reps for Petty have said they'll pays $7,500 "with no questions asked to anyone with information leading to the recovery of the guitars."

The band's tour is scheduled to kick off in Broomfield, Colorado on April 18.
