Poland's average gross wages increased more than economists expected in March, data released by the statistical office showed Wednesday.
Average gross monthly wages increased 5.7 percent on a monthly basis in March, faster than the 5.3 percent growth economists forecast.
On an annual basis, monthly gross wages rose 3.8 percent during the month, in line with economists' expectations. In the three months ended March, gross wages rose 5.3 percent from the corresponding period a year earlier.
Employment in the Polish corporate sector decreased 0.1 percent sequentially in March. In the January-March period, employment moved up 0.6 percent from the same period last year, the agency said.
