The Lieutenant Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, will host a new show on Current TV dubbed "The Gavin Newsom Show." The hour long broadcast is set to begin airing next month on the cable network founded by Al Gore.
Current, in a statement, described the talk program as having "a decidedly California touch as the state's lieutenant governor and former San Francisco mayor interviews notables from Silicon Valley, Hollywood and beyond."
"Gavin Newsom is a courageous leader who has boldly seized every opportunity to create positive social change," added Gore. "Newsom touches many worlds -- business, politics, entertainment and activism. We are honored that Current TV will be bringing his curiosity, intelligence, insights and enthusiasm to television."
In an interview with sfgate.com, Newsom said he would continue his duties as second in command to Governor Jerry Brown.
