Cheap Trick are on the bill for the Earth Day concert at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, April 22.

Earth Day Network president Kathleen Rogers says the theme of Sunday's rally is "Mobilize the Earth."

The organization is urging people worldwide to perform one billion "green" acts and the event will feature a countdown to the goal, which they hope will be reached on Earth Day.

The concert, which features performances by Dave Mason and Kicking Daisies, runs from 12PM to 7PM EST.

Two years ago Sting and Jimmy Cliff were the featured performers, and thousands swarmed the mall to take part. In 2011 there was no event scheduled to celebrate Earth Day.

More than one billion people in 192 countries participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.
