Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles was honored at the 3rd annual 4-H Legacy Awards Gala last night. The Grammy-winning singer, who is also an alumnus of the youth development program, was presented with the 2012 4-H Distinguished Alumni Medallion for her achievements as a musician.
Nettles' history with 4-H goes back to her youth when she was a member of Clovers & Company, Georgia's official 4-H performing arts group.
In addition to serving on the Junior and Senior State Boards, Jennifer won the Georgia State 4-H Congress honors for her Performing Arts project. She also served as a camp counselor at Rock Eagle 4-H Center from 1993-1995.
The Gala was held at the Hilton New York hotel in New York City, and featured celebrity chef, Host of the ABC daytime show, The Chew, and Tennessee 4-H alumna, Carla Hall as the Master of Ceremonies.
