Japan's tertiary industry activity index remained flat month-on-month in February, data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed Friday. Economists were forecasting a 0.7 percent rise for February.
Spending in scientific research, professional and technical services advanced 6.3 percent on a monthly basis in February and that in information and communications climbed 1.7 percent.
Meanwhile, the indicator fell 1.4 percent each in wholesale and retail trade and transport and postal activities.
