Trey Songz Suing Storage Wars David Hester Over The Term 'YUUUP!'

Trey Songz has counter-sued David Hester, of A&E's reality series Storage Wars, in their trademark battle over the term "YUUUP!"

Both Songz and Hester claim that they have the official trademark to the saying and both parties also sell merchandise that features the saying, according to court documents filed in New York.

Hester originally sued last year asking a judge to allow him to continue selling merchandise and using the term, even after Songz had sent him a cease and desist letter. Songz responded, in papers filed on April 2, claiming he has had the right to use the trademark since back in 2009, while Hester only filed his trademark in 2011.

Though a judge has yet to rule, Songz is seeking a void to Hester's trademark and awarding him damages.
