Sugarland Tour Manager Is Now Focus Of Stage Collapse Case

Sugarland's tour manager Hellen Rollens is now the main focus for lawyers representing the families of seven people killed and dozens injured in the tragic stage collapse at last summer's Indiana State Fair.

Fair officials say they had a concert promoter ask the band twice to delay the August 13 concert because of concerns about severe weather. Reports unveiled last week that Rollens told a state fair representative, "It's only rain. We can play."

Determining who was ultimately responsible for the decision not to delay the concert in spite of warnings about the weather could be a key factor in the outcome of lawsuits filed by victims and survivors' families. Also under scrutiny is the stage design, which reports indicate was not built to code.

Sugarland's spokesman said that Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush were never asked to delay the show.
