Australia Inflation On Tap For Tuesday

Australia is on Tuesday scheduled to release consumer price index data for the first quarter of 2012, highlighting a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

Inflation is expected to rise 2.2 percent on year after rising 3.1 percent in the previous three months. On quarter, CPI is called higher by 0.7 percent following the flat reading in Q4.

Japan will provide March figures for its corporate service price index, with forecasts suggesting an unchanged rate at -0.6 percent on year. Also due is April's reading for small business confidence; it saw a score of 48.7 in March.

New Zealand will announce March numbers for credit card spending; it was up 4.0 percent on year and 0.5 percent on month in February.
