Turkey Apr. Capacity Utilization Rises, Business Confidence Improves

Capacity utilization rate in the Turkish manufacturing industry increased for the second consecutive month in April, data released by the central bank showed Tuesday.

The capacity utilization rate increased to 74.7 in April from 73.1 in March. In February, the capacity utilization rate was 72.9.

Capacity utilization rate in the consumer goods industry rose to 72.9 in April from 71.5 in the previous month, while in the intermediate goods industry it moved up to 76.4 from 74.8. Capacity utilization rate in the investment goods industry advanced to 73.8 during the month from 72.7 percent in the preceding month.

Separately, the agency said business confidence in turkey improved for the fourth successive month in April. The corresponding index increased to 116 in April from 112.9 in March.
