Taylor Swift may play Joni Mitchell in an upcoming film based on the book Girls Like Us by Sheila Weller. The book is a biography of Mitchell, Carole King and Carly Simon.
Swift previously had a bit role in the romantic comedy, Valentine's Day and voiced a role in the animated film The Lorax. The Mitchell role would be her first major role in a film.
Alison Pill, who has previously starred in Midnight in Paris, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and HBO's In Treatment, has auditioned to play King in the film.
Katie Jacobs (producer House, Fatal Instinct) is set to direct the John Sayles (Sunshine State, Honeydripper) written script.
The film is not currently in production.
