DeVry Q3 Profit Falls

Educational services provider DeVry Inc (DV) reported third-quarter net income attributable to the company of $67.1 million or $1.00 per share, down from $92.9 or $1.32 per share.

On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.99 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue for the quarter declined 4 percent to $540.8 million from $562.7 million a year ago.

Analysts expected revenues of $529.45 million for the quarter.

Retailers could see record web traffic this year as more consumers then ever before plan to shop online, according to Deloitte's 31st annual holiday survey of consumer spending intentions and trends. The survey found that holiday shoppers this year plan to spend just as much as online as they spend in brick and mortar stores.
