Macau Visitor Arrivals Rise 7.3% In March

Visitor arrivals in Macau increased from last year in March, data released by the Statistics and Census Service showed Wednesday.

The number of visitors arriving in the country increased 7.3 percent year-on-year to around 2.35 million in March. Same-day visitors accounted for 54.2 percent of of the total visitors.

Visitors from Mainland China increased 15.4 percent annually, while arrivals from Hong Kong and Taiwan decreased by 5.1 percent and 16.7 percent respectively during the month.

The average length of stay by visitors edged down by 0.1 day on an annual basis to 0.9 day in March, the agency said.

In the three months ended March, visitor arrivals in Macau increased 7.9 percent from the same period last year to around 6.94 million.
