Martin Lawrence has separated from his wife Shamicka after the pair made a "joint decision to part ways."
They were a couple for a decade and a half before getting married in 2010. They have two children.
"Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together," they said in a statement.
It was the second marriage for Lawrence; he has a daughter with his ex-wife Patricia. The latter is now married to former NFL'er Emmitt Smith.
Lawrence recently shot a sitcom pilot for CBS and wrapped a national stand-up tour.
The sitcom will feature Lawrence as Ray, a former construction worker who decides to pursue a career in the police force.
